Minis & Company Donates Recycled Computers to Urban Hope

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA (July 8, 2013) Minis & Co., Inc. will donate eight recycled computers to Urban Hope on Tuesday, July 9th, at 2:30PM. Urban Hope is located at 1601 Barnard Street in Savannah.

“Minis & Company is proud to donate computers to a very worthwhile non-profit, Urban Hope,” said Felton Jenkins, CFA, senior vice president and portfolio manager at Minis & Company. “It is great to see the computers go to good use in the community, especially for the benefit of young people.”

Urban Hope is a ministry devoted to changing the lives of children and youth, bringing them a sense of hope and a sense of future through spiritual and educational development and life management skills. All of Urban Hope’s programs are free of charge to the participants and there are no religious, racial or financial requirements.

“Urban Hope is proud and grateful to have been considered and rewarded with the donation of these computers. The Urban Hope children will be able to thrive in their homework assignments with the help of these computers, as well as stay up to date on new technology and techniques,” said Cassie Beckwith, Urban Hope board member.

The computers will be used on a daily basis by the Urban Hope children during the after school and summer programs. The children will use them for their homework assignments, for doing research, and for learning how to type. The majority of the Urban Hope children do not have computers or internet access at home. The use of the new computers will help them to keep up with the technology that most other children in their community have and enable them to stay at a level of learning that they might not receive otherwise.

Minis & Company is an SEC Registered Investment Advisor based in Savannah and manages over $470 million for individual and institutional investors. The firm is a subsidiary company of SCBT.
